| ABOUT THE MASTER ROOF TILERS & SLATERS ASSOCIATION OF NSW INC |
An association is described as an organization of persons or businesses having common interests or purposes.
In 1936 a group of Roofing Tilers saw a need for such a movement and so formed the Master Slaters, Tilers & Shinglers Association, the name reflecting the influence of the various roofing materials at that time.
Recently the name was changed to coincide closer with today’s material usage.
During the seventy plus years of our existence we have maintained continuous service to our members even throughout the war years and are regarded as financially sound and member oriented.
WHAT WE DO ?
As the roof tile industry spokesperson, our association has input to Governments, Education bodies, Roof Tile manufacturers and other Building industry associations.
We also provide industrial representation to the Conciliation and State Industrial Commissions and the Apprenticeship Directorate. We also have input into the Australian Standards and the Construction Industry Training Advisory Board (NSW), both bodies being increasingly important and authoritative in the construction industry.
The association meets monthly to discuss our business. This is an open forum and input from members is encouraged. These meetings provide an opportunity for members to be updated on current happenings, to make public their grievances, and frustration’s and provides effective input.
